Holiday Sparkle

I've been wanting a sequin dress in this blue/gray color for SO long. TOO long. So when I found it last week at Forever21 I snapped up the last perfect one in size S. It's a little big on me (I'm usually an XS), I think it's meant to be a bodycon-style dress, but I like the way it hangs so casually, skimming instead of clinging (aka How To Wear a Sequin Dress and Not Look Like You're Going To Vegas 101).

But the cons of heavily sequin dresses are that they're a bit irritating on the skin sometimes, the sequins catch on each other (proof below, I promise the dress isn't tucked into my underwear!), and all eyes are on you. Why is that a con? you may ask. Oh, you bold, confident person. I wish I could be like you.
sequin dress: F21 (similar on sale!, similar, similar) | leather jacket: thanks to Aeropostale (similarsimilar) | lucite wedges: H&M x MMM (similar) | knuckle clutch: gift from mom! (amazing, amazing, steal)

 What's happening this week:
  • SO ecstatic that my bracelet was featured in Points North Magazine this month for their December 2013 holiday gift guide! *super happy dance* It's a small feature, but I am pumped nonetheless.
  • The holidays are here and for once I haven't bought all the Christmas gifts by November as I usually do. It wouldn't be that bad but B and I haven't sat down and decided on gifts for relatives yet. Yikes.
  • It's been raining and muggy here so I don't wanna hear "that's way too cold to wear what you're wearing." If you know me, then you know I'm a glutton for comfort and if it's way too cold (or even just a little too cold), I will slink into my couch in my alpine-print leggings and oversize hoodie and  my  mug of tea and read a book instead of posting like a good, enduring blogger should. Heck to the no.
  • It's the first two weeks of December, which means that it's holiday rush time for the shop and final exam time for school. Somebody save me.

  4. Hahahaha yes I see the con in that. One of my hates on sequins. They're itchy and they catch on things. It's worse when they connect on your surroundings. One time my friends hair got caught on the sequins on my shoulder. Yeah that was awkward and weird LOL

  5. Such a pretty sequin dress, I love that it has elbow-length sleeves so it's perfect for the colder months! I hate it when the sequins snag on each other too! Makes for an unflatering look and you constantly have to fix it. Good luck with finals! I have one down so far, two more to go! But we are almost there :)

  13. What a great look! I like that you went up a size and made it a body skimming dress, not a body con dress. It seems more versatile this way. Those shoes are to die for! and wearing the moto jacket is just <3
